The Ladyluck Story

Ladyluck was named by the original owners, Stanley and Audrey Snapes, who built the property from the ground up beginning in the 1970s.

A lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), Mrs. Snapes' Ladyluck Kennels was known for its beautiful Rough Collies. It was also a popular pet boarding facility for decades.

​

After many years of looking for just the right place to establish our hobby farm and rare breed preservation program, we were privileged to be able to purchase this 20 acre property when the original owners moved on.

​

Despite having had our own name in mind for our new home, we quickly came to appreciate the hard work and love that the original owners put into this place and could not bear to change their chosen name. Thus, "Ladyluck Farm" was born!

Our registered prefix with the Canadian Horse Breeders' Association (CHBA) is "Boreala", hence our little herd is officially known as "Boreala Canadians at Ladyluck Farm".

​

Also devotees of herding dogs, we will make sure there is always a collie of some kind - or two, or three! - at Ladyluck. We know Audrey would be pleased.
